To my Father


Dad,

Words alone cannot begin to put a frame on how I feel so I'm just going to pour it from the heart.

This is nothing fancy, but it's a note of heartfelt gratitude.

Dad, there is so much to say. Too many emotions to contain, but ultimately, I just wanna say thanks. 

Anything less does not cut it and any more may distort the message.

I never asked to be born but I've never had a single day when I regret being sired by you.

You have been a pillar- my pillar. You've supported me from the ground up.

Your encouragement has kept me motoring forward.

Your sacrifices have made me who I am today.

I know you've not been perfect- only a hypocrite claims perfection.

I'm not going to dwell on your shortcomings for we have all fallen short.

As much as you are not a hundred percent, there is no one I would love to be a son too.

I think I should stop here.
A long epistle will come another day. Trust your son on that.

You've given me enough freedom to thread my path and I hope I've justified that faith.

I know I fail a lot of times but I'm trying and I'll never stop trying.

I can't list all you've done for me, but I can thank you for all of them.

 Thank you, dad. And happy fathers day to you.

                                                                           BE THE VOICE I was watching a video yesterday on how the power of one could change many. Although I dare not use the same example as I’d seen in the video, mainly because I do not have the same experience, therefore, it would be really hard to portray the message using their situation, I will illuminate it using a different perspective. Sometimes all you need is a little voice to give you the final push that will help you overcome that difficult task. You do have that voice in your head but it doesn’t work because you have shut it down by giving up, therefore you need another voice- someone else’s voice to speak to you. Whatever challenges you face, don’t face them alone; find a true and willing friend to share them with. They just might be the voice you need. THE 1 THING YOU NEED TO OVERCOME DIFFICULT CHALLENGES 1. A few days back I went to see a friend. After catching up, we went into his gym which contained one piece of equipment comprising of cement and a rod. He lied down on the bench and asked me to pass it to him. I tried lifting it off the ground but I couldn’t.  It looked ‘carryable,’ at first, but when I bent down, I could swear I heard my waist bone give way. I spent the night there and I tried lifting it the next morning as I’d gotten enough rest at night. I bent down, and this time, like the last time, I couldn’t lift it. But it gave way a little.
